Abbey View, St. Albans
We’re proud to introduce Abbey View in St Albans, a landmark multi-million pound development delivering 63 luxury apartments shaped around modern living, sustainability and respect for the city’s heritage.
Abbey View isn’t simply a construction project. It represents the confidence our clients place in us to deliver homes that don’t just meet expectations, but redefine them. Each apartment will be finished to a high specification, with contemporary design, efficient building performance and thoughtful layouts in one of the South East’s most desirable locations.
This development marks a significant milestone for Benchmark Group, and we’re looking forward to sharing more as Abbey View continues to take shape.
The Refinery, Burton on Trent
The Refinery development revitalised a historic local landmark, transforming the long-vacant former entertainment venue into high-quality residential accommodation.
Once part of the original Y.M.C.A. complex built between 1900–1901, the hall has served many roles over the years, from early cinematography and theatre performances to a popular nightclub in the 1990s.
After years of neglect, Benchmark Group acquired the building and partnered with East Staffordshire Borough Council to bring it back into use, delivering much-needed housing in the heart of the town centre.
The proposals sensitively extend the existing structure, enhancing natural light throughout while preserving the building’s heritage character. The completed scheme will provide 14 spacious apartments designed to combine modern living with the building’s original charm.
Porchester Road, Nottingham
The Porchester Road scheme transformed a heritage building to create efficient, high-quality residential accommodation. By optimising the layout, utilising the lower ground areas, and making key structural improvements, Benchmark Group increased the number of units while fully meeting local authority requirements for living space and cycle parking.
An adjacent linear shed was also converted and extended to provide additional self-contained accommodation, designed to complement and enhance the character of the overall development.
405-411 Anlaby Road, Hull
15 high-quality apartments on the edge of Hull City Centre, fronting onto Anlaby Road, the development re-purposes a derelict hotel into well-sized residential accommodation. Each unit features a bathroom and well-proportioned spaces spread across three floors.
The building will be completely refurbished with a back-to-brick renovation and a completely new roof. The roof space allows for dormer windows to be introduced, which increases natural daylight in living spaces. A large new-build extension to the rear will increase the overall accommodation offer, maximising the Gross Development Value of the scheme.
